Scholarship Details

This scholarship upholds one of Green The Church’s Three Pillars—Building Power for Change.

Rev. Dr. Kenneth Davis and Green The Church seek to build the next generation of change agents, who will continue the fight for environmental justice. Through this initiative our goal is to award a scholarship every year to a deserving student “who desires to leave this place [the earth] better than how they found it”.

Applications for the scholarship are set to open in July. Details of the application process will be available in the coming months.

Scholarship Eligibility

• Students pursuing undergraduate and undergraduate degrees
• Students currently enrolled in seminary
• Students studying STEMA (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Agriculture)
• US Citizen or Permanent Resident 
• Actively involved with environmental justice
• Have a financial need

Kenneth Davis Promotes Green The Church Scholarship

Environmental and economic justice have been at the forefront of the mind of Dr. Kenneth Davis since his college days at the University of Chicago.

Overworked, underpaid, underestimated, and disenfranchised: was the story of Dr. Kenneth Davis as he matriculated through the hallowed halls of The University of Chicago in 1961. Those factors cultivated within Dr. Davis the drive to fight racism and environmental injustice.
